Bacardi Spiced Rum Gets a Makeover

Bacardi has relaunched its Spiced Rum, now known as Bacardi Smooth Spiced Rum. The new rum is smoother and less spicy than its predecessor, with a focus on creamy vanilla notes.

The Old Oakheart

Bacardi first launched Oakheart Spiced Rum in 2011. The rum was distilled in Puerto Rico and aged in oak barrels. It had a strong spicy flavor profile, with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

The New Smooth Spiced Rum

The new Bacardi Smooth Spiced Rum is still distilled in Puerto Rico, but it is now aged in a combination of American oak and charred oak barrels. This gives the rum a smoother, more mellow flavor profile. The vanilla notes are more pronounced, while the spicy notes are more subtle.

Bacardi Smooth Spiced Rum is available in 50ml and 750ml bottles. It has an ABV of 35% (70 proof).
