A Disappointing End to a Historic Run
Council Rock Newtown's magical run in the Little League World Series came to an end on Wednesday, August 24th, after a 9-0 loss to Boerne, Texas.
The Mid-Atlantic region champions had won their first two games in Williamsport, but they were unable to overcome a strong Texas team.
A Strong Start and a Heartbreaking Finish
Council Rock Newtown began the tournament with a 6-1 victory over Great Lakes champion Davenport, Iowa.
In their second game, they defeated Southwest champion Waco, Texas, 11-1.
However, their momentum was halted by Boerne, who held them to just two hits.
A Creditable Performance
Despite the disappointing end, Council Rock Newtown can be proud of their performance in Williamsport.
They represented the Mid-Atlantic region well and showed great heart and determination throughout the tournament.
